Seattle, Revisited

One of the entrances to Pike Market, Seattle

Cheesecake from the Cheesecake factory. This was $9 USD+ and I think it's worth every penny.

Hammer + Bread? No.....

Hammer + Seafood...Yes! This was the outdoor patio in a pub/restaurant called the Crabpot. Check it out if your in town.

I'm not too sure if this was worth $30 USD /pp.

I admit that I finished the melted butter.

After the heavy seafood meal we decided to have steak at the Outback Steakhouse for dinner. Gluttony is not a sin right?

Now that I am in Waterloo, my next logical stop would be Toronto, Ontario! Stay tuned.

Basement Suite in Waterloo, Ontario

This is what my place I will be staying at for one year. My landlord is awesome and I get lots of personal space.
My entertainment room

The kitchen...

Small sink...

600/month: fully furnished + utilities + internet + TV
Unit is not shared. Not too shabby.

Cooking By Myself Part III

Lets make Quesadillas!
Chicken with Chicken Rub Spices...

Beef + taco m ix + mixed veggies (red/green pepper) and cheese

Served with salad, dressings and sour cream! The quesadilla shells were a bit crunchy...not soft like the ones I have in pubs.

Cooking By Myself Part II

Lets see what kind of curry I can make!

Curry Part I:
Chicken, Cajun, onions, garlic, carrots....

....into the pot

Mildly spicy and creamy curry! Awesome with rice.

Curry Part II:
Onions, Glico curry sauce, baby carrots, onions, chicken and potatoes....

Into the Pot....

Yum! Glico sauce rocks!!

Cooking By Myself Part I

First time cooking in Waterloo. My cooking space is smaller than my computer desk at home. I only have a half-stove to work with and knives duller than grandmas playing bingo. But I shouldn't complain...my aunt makes great food with a tiny kitchen. Anyways my first meal...

Fettuccine Alfredo Part I:
Uber fail. It taste worse than it looks.

Fettuccine Alfredo Part II:
Chicken rub spices, clams, and more veggies + with cream cheese and Alfredo sauce + Parmesan cheese.

This is what I am eating recently.

This picture looks a lot better. I think it's the lighting. Cooking isn't hard... if your new to living on your own and feeding yourself, try building up your spice rack and using that on your meats. Bake it after rubbing the spices and serve with a side of veggies and pasta. It's easy!

Japan / Malaysia / Singapore Randoms

Long exposure over a random bridge in Tokyo

I would be tired too if I am bombarded everyday with the sights and sounds of Tokyo.

Tsukiji Fish market. At 5:30am in the morning, Tunas get sold to restaurants everyday. Some buyers / validators? would chip off a small chunk of the raw tuna to sample the catch.

A man with a bell would stand on top of a stool and hold an auction for certain sections of the room, and would continue until everything is sold. The auction would last about 1/2 - 1 hour.

One of many small, friendly family-run restaurants in Kyoto. This one is called Mama-san, which has 5 stools and a large table. Food was awesome for 500 yen!

One of many specialty shops in Tokyo.

Dim sum in HK. Standard fare here....

Random celebration in KL, Malaysia. We stumbled upon this at 11pm at night near one of many night markets.

Hah!

One of the many carts escorting tourists around Malaka, in KL. You know they are nearby from the loud, phat techno beats.

One of the many people in Bhatu Caves, KL, Malaysia

Night time street market in KL

Tsukiji Fish Market, Tokyo. You would think it's a dirty and smelly place because of the shiploads of seafood that get processed everyday. It's one of the cleanest I've ever seen.

Voyeur Shot!!! Street Market in Kyoto, Japan

One of many temples in Kyoto. Tilt-shifted this a bit and played a lot with the colors in Photoshop.

Anyone know what this says? What is the significance of the 2 shrines in the background?

Japan is always alive with lights, even at night. If it's not the hustle-and-bustle party streets of Roppongi, there are many quiet shrines (sometimes in people's houses) that light up the neighborhood.

A junk boat in HK, China. Photo-shopped beyond belief :)
